GOD BLESS AMERICA

You’ll know that America is in deep distress if you spend just fifteen minutes on social media. The mainstream media feeds a constant diet of class envy, race-baiting, overzealous political power grabs, religious hatred, and the never-ending COVID-19 (20, 21, 22 and beyond) vaccination debate. The poisoned rhetoric divides close families, lifelong friends and devoted church members and even makes enemies of bordering states and neighboring countries. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve already judged and hated me after only one paragraph.

We tend to focus on the negative soundbites we hear on TV networks. We cringe at the backbiting in Congress, which is two heads of the same viper. Our attention has veered from the greatness of America to its wretchedness. Don’t think that I haven’t seen that wretchedness up close; after all, I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, where homelessness is just a sidewalk away and heavy-handed authority is the norm, for the previous 37 years.

But, as our family makes its new home in the sunny state of Florida, we still see the greatness of America because that’s what we choose to see. America is great because of the goodness of Americans. This blog will focus entirely on the people, places and events that showcase the magnificence of this country and explain in detail why so many millions worldwide are willing to pay such a high price to enter our land.

You could spend fifteen minutes lamenting the loss of our country to evil forces. Or you could spend those same fifteen minutes reading the stories of American heritage, honor, pride and excellence. My readers will be reminded why our nation is still the strongest, most innovative and compassionate country in the world.

I’m confident that patriotic Americans and their ideals will prevail over those trying to destroy it from the inside out. It’s a long, uphill battle to counteract the forces that are primed to overthrow and cancel the founders, builders and protectors of this country. My blog will do its small part to bring back to mind the American way of life and freedoms that so many have given their lives to defend.

Before you accuse me of being a red, white and blue patriot or a Bible believer, let’s get one thing straight.

I am.

But that doesn’t mean you’re not welcome here. If you have Biden Remorse or have come to grips that the radical left has left the Democrat Party behind, join me for a conversation. Not an argument, but a discussion about how to (pardon the phrase) make America great again. Since January 2020, we’ve had to deal with soaring housing costs, never-before-seen gas prices, southern border invasions, food and supply shortages, class and skin color division and a precipitous drop in the value of human lives and morals. That needs to change before we become mired in totalitarian depths that immigrants from communist regimes escaped but still remember all too well.

This is not a political column, although there will be times when I will need to unburden and voice my opinion. Ninety percent of my articles will focus on the people, places and things that represent the traditional values this country was built on. I’ve lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1985, so many of my early dispatches will be about California topics. But now that we’ve moved across the country to Tampa, you’ll see more features on what makes Florida a pillar of American history and a haven for those escaping blue state craziness.

Jesus once said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” There is nothing in this universe that is not under the authority of Jesus Christ. Whatever evil we face, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that America and the world, with all its confusion and chaos, sit in the palm of His hand.

God bless America. Land that I love.
