DREAMCASTERS

My career as a San Francisco sports anchorman gave me entry into the elite world of professional and Olympic-caliber athletes. I’ve covered the World Series, Super Bowl and NBA playoffs and produced Silicon Valley, church and senior living videos. I’ve earned Telly Awards for broadcast excellence and am blessed to have been in this career field for so long.

Now that we’ve moved from West to East coast and into our forever home, I’d like to spend the next years interviewing, reminiscing and writing about the people, places and events that impacted my life. I will offer unabashed support for The American Dream, which so many worldwide have aspired to, fought for and attained.

Some of the essays will go back to my days as an Air Force brat. Others will cover my growth and experiences as a broadcaster and writer. I will honor the most special people in my life, from my Mom and Dad to my wife, Ann, and the kids. My newest essays will feature people we meet and places we visit in our new home state of Florida. In every essay, I will thank God for putting me in a position to serve Him, learn from great minds and experience world-changing events.

Each essay will fall into one of four categories that I borrowed from Luke 10:27, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.”

Heart Essays will be the most personal ones, centering around my faith, my family and the ones I love most. I will recount my never-to-be-forgotten memories and how God made so many of my dreams possible. Based on my conservative Christian values, I will occasionally interject my strong opinions on current issues.

Soul Essays will take you to the backroads to see historical landmarks and museums and meet the backbone of America. I’ll introduce you to hard-working people who live humble lives, providing service, entertainment or comfort to those who still revere All-American values. Ignore the woke police; let’s meet the “little guys” who create businesses that make our economy strong.

Mind Essays will feature the brilliance and innovation of inventors, authors, artists, musicians and enterprising people who benefited from hard work and inspiration and built American businesses from the ground up. If you already know what’s in Hunter’s laptop, let’s celebrate the innovators who built the tech world and made his online transfers possible.

Finally, Strength Essays will showcase the American Legacy from battlefields to outer space to the athletic field. Essays that describe the defense of our freedom, with tributes to generals, admirals and privates alike. I’ll showcase the fortitude of athletic champions and highlight what it takes to build and sustain their success in competition.

God gave us an abundance of everything: creativity, physical strength, wisdom, courage and light. He blessed me with the ability to write, so this collection of essays will grow while I still have it in me.

This is not a political blog. The essays are meant to highlight dreamers, doers and achievers. My essays may seem politically incorrect to some, but I offer no apologies. Cancel Culture has no place here as we celebrate the movers and shakers who built and protected America’s foundation. If you’ve had enough race-baiting, faith shaming and political division, let’s learn about the people and events that bring unity. We must regain sanity in our country, and if you don’t agree, that’s cool. You are not my audience.

The readers I write for firmly believe in God, family and an old-fashioned work ethic. They trust that America’s best days are yet to come. We pray that those who want to destroy America from within will soon be repelled and cast into darkness.
